Do/Dare I?

if I had wings, would I fly?

If
I had
wings
I’d
fly
away
surrender
this lackluster
where
genius leaves
me
unused
unwanted
undisciplined
in a grind
and some,
how
I slip
off
pedestals
into
chained melody —
my life
as flat note
in no
chorus.

And
yes,
it’s me
slipping
down
down
down
a rabid hole
called mortal-wounded
so
I prattle on
about nothing of
consequence &
nobody
knows
the trouble I see
here-in,
don’t know how
I’ve
lost this
lost calling
lost in prayer
lost
and can’t BE-come
or so
say ye of such
little, little
faith.
